Muse

The Shweli River forms the border between Myanmar's Shan State and China's Yunan Province at Muse. Although it extends all the way to Lashio and Mandalay, the Chinese influence is of course stronger here than elsewhere in the Shan State. Anyone entering Myanmar for the first time via Muse might easily think the country was in the midst of an economic boom. Unlike the rest of the country, the city is prospering as a trade centre.
